SAINT CLOUD – Residents on Knotts Lane can now use their tap water without boiling it, as the precautionary boil water advisory issued by Toho Water Authority has been lifted. The advisory, which began on September 10, 2026, was put in place due to a water line break caused by a contractor working in the area.
The advisory was officially lifted on September 12, 2026, following a minimum of two days of regulatory testing to ensure the water meets drinking water standards. Customers are no longer advised to boil water prior to consumption, and water filters do not need to be cleaned or replaced.
Toho Water Authority initially issued the advisory on September 10, 2026, advising customers in the affected area, highlighted on a provided map, to boil water for one minute before drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes. Bottled water was recommended as an alternative. Water used for laundry or bathing did not require boiling.
The water line break occurred due to contractor activity in the vicinity of Knotts Lane. Toho Water Authority stated that the advisory would remain in effect until lifted by the authority.
