Residents in Eastern Orleans, specifically Lake Catherine, are under an Extreme Storm Surge Warning issued by the National Weather Service New Orleans LA as of October 9 at 4:12 AM CDT. Life-threatening storm surge of 3-5 feet above ground is possible through Saturday morning. Flood preparations and ordered evacuations should be complete, and evacuees should be in shelters well away from storm surge flooding.

You must remain sheltered in a safe location and not venture outside. Conditions may still be gusty with peak winds of 25-35 mph and gusts up to 50 mph. Little to no additional significant rainfall or tornado activity is expected.
