Grocery & Snack Shortages Expected in Orlando by 2026

Orlando shoppers may find fewer familiar items in their grocery carts as several popular products are discontinued or becoming harder to find. These departures span freezer staples, ice cream flavors and snack chips, reflecting industry-wide trends and shifting consumer preferences.

Major food companies are streamlining their product lines. PepsiCo announced last year it would reduce nearly 20% of its U.S. product offerings to focus on items with simpler ingredients and functional benefits. Coca-Cola also confirmed earlier this year the discontinuation of a longtime freezer aisle staple, citing "shifting consumer preferences."

Minute Maid frozen juice concentrates, including orange juice, lemonade and limeade, are among the notable departures. Coca-Cola ended its 80-year presence in the frozen can category with this move. “My family would buy these to make frozen icees in the summer, especially after a long day at Disney,” one shopper commented on a popular online forum. “Can't believe they're being discontinued.”

In the ice cream aisle, Blue Bell’s Butter Crunch flavor, a vanilla ice cream with chunks of chocolate peanut butter candy, is no longer available, according to the company’s product page. Snack enthusiasts are also mourning the reported phasing out of Cheese Pizza Cheetos Puffs, which returned in 2025 after a 20-year absence. Lay’s Sweet Potato Poppables and Smartfood Movie Theater Butter Popcorn are also reportedly being removed from shelves as part of PepsiCo’s product reductions.
