Orange County Animal Services $5 Adoption Special

Orange County Animal Services is offering $5 adoptions for dogs and cats four months and older through Sunday, October 18. The promotion began Wednesday, October 14.

Standard adoption fees range from $50 to $80. The discounted fee covers spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchip identification, deworming, and heartworm tests for dogs six months and older.

No appointments are required. Potential adopters can browse available animals on the shelter's website or visit in person with a valid photo ID. The shelter accepts cash, credit, debit, and checks.

Diane Summers, division manager of Orange County Animal Services, said the promotion celebrates the shelter's return to normal operations after a temporary pause for construction of the county's new facility. The new shelter, located near the Mall of Millenia, opens in fall 2027 and will house 265 dogs and nearly 200 cats.
