The Milton, Georgia, estate formerly owned by Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Gary Rossington has sold for $6,576,950. Rossington, who called the property home for many years, died in 2023. The estate, affectionately known as “Freebird’s Nest,” changed hands last month.
The sprawling property sits on 36 acres and includes over 7,500 square feet of living space. Features include a private lake, a swimming pool, a barn and a separate second residence. A gated entrance and winding private drive enhance the property’s seclusion.
The main house offers 7,516 square feet with five bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms. The finished lower level includes a wet bar, billiards area and Rossington’s personal music studio. The main living area features a two-story foyer, vaulted ceilings and four fireplaces.
Outdoor amenities include an in-ground swimming pool with an expansive deck and two docks on Sargent Lake, one of which is covered and has two boat slips. The property also includes a barn, workshops and RV/boat storage.
