Oldsmar Rec Center: Pickleball, Basketball & More!

Oldsmar residents can engage in various sports programs at the Cypress Forest Recreation Center and Bicentennial Park. Available activities for all ages and skill levels include pickleball, volleyball, martial arts, basketball and badminton.

Pickleball

Indoor pickleball clinics for beginners meet on the first and third Mondays at 1:30 p.m. Intermediate clinics occur on the second and fourth Mondays at the same time. Clinics cost $5 for Recreation Card holders and $7.50 for non-holders. Open play runs Mondays from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. for $2 (RC) or $3 (non-RC). Bicentennial Park offers three outdoor courts, free to use and lit until 10 p.m.

Volleyball

Volleyball programs serve participants ages 8-17. 'Volleyball Play & Learn,' which emphasizes instruction through game play, meets Mondays at 7:30 p.m. for $35 (RC) or $52.50 (non-RC) per month. A separate 'Volleyball Play & Learn' session, focusing on basic skills and teamwork, also meets Mondays at 7:30 p.m. for $50 (RC) or $75 (non-RC) per session. The Volleyball Academy offers beginner sessions Tuesdays at 6:45 p.m. and intermediate sessions at 7:45 p.m.; both cost $50 (RC) or $75 (non-RC) per month. Private volleyball instruction for ages 8-17 covers passing, setting, hitting, and strategy. These hourly sessions are available Mondays at 7:30 p.m. for $50 (RC) or $75 (non-RC). Martial Arts

Systema Martial Arts, for ages 6 and up, meets Tuesdays at 6 p.m. The program uses games and drills to build confidence and self-reliance. Monthly fees are $85 (RC) or $127.50 (non-RC).

Basketball

The Basketball Academy includes Wednesday sessions for ages 5-11 at 6 p.m. and ages 12-16 at 7 p.m. This academy costs $40 (RC) or $60 (non-RC) per month. A Youth 3v3 Basketball Clinic, for ages 7-12, begins Saturday, Nov. 7, and runs Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This 6-week season costs $60 (RC) or $90 (non-RC).

Badminton

Badminton sessions take place Saturdays from 2 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. on two indoor courts. Participants must bring their own rackets and birdies. Each session costs $2 (RC) or $3 (non-RC).
