The Oldsmar Public Library now offers expanded online resources to help local students with school assignments and learning. These digital tools are accessible with a library card.
For students in kindergarten through fifth grade, 'Florida Kids' from the Florida Department of State provides facts, history, and symbols of the state, suitable for school projects. 'Gale in Context: Elementary' introduces younger learners to database searching with age-appropriate, curriculum-related content.
Middle school students, grades 6-8, can use 'Gale in Context: Middle School.' This database covers subjects like cultures, government, history, and literature for in-depth research.
Children aged 2 to 8 can use 'ABC Mouse' at the library for interactive games and activities teaching numbers, shapes, and basic math.
Beyond educational databases, the library also provides access to 'Hoopla' and 'Libby.' These platforms allow patrons to download or stream books, comics, movies, and audiobooks. Parental controls are available for both services.
Access to Gale databases requires a valid Oldsmar Public Library card. Residents can obtain a library card by visiting the library in person.
