Oldsmar's Community Programs Offer Enrichment for All Ages at Cypress Forest Rec Center

Oldsmar residents have a variety of engaging and developmental programs available, offering academic support, family fun, and unique hobby opportunities. Most activities take place at the Cypress Forest Recreation Center, with some special events held at Veterans Memorial Park.

For students needing extra help, the Homework Help program provides assistance from state-certified teachers for grades K-12. These sessions focus on building strong academic foundations in math and reading. Homework Help runs on Mondays from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Space is limited, and the cost is $20 per session for Recreation Card holders and $30 for those without a card.

Families and children can look forward to several evening events. Parents' Night Out, designed for ages 5-12, offers themed fun and includes a pizza dinner. These popular evenings occur on the first and third Fridays of each month from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The cost is $10 for Recreation Card holders and $15 for non-holders per session. For all ages, Family Night Out provides themed activities and light snacks on the second and fourth Fridays, also from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. This event costs $5 for Recreation Card holders and $7 per person/session for others.

Unique interests also find a home in Oldsmar. The Star Gazers program offers a free opportunity to view the night sky with telescopes at Veterans Memorial Park. This event takes place on the second Thursday of each month at sunset, weather permitting. Shared telescopes are available, and all ages are welcome. For those interested in puzzles and brain games, Oldsmar Cubers & Brain Games meets on the first Saturday of the month from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. This club focuses on peer-to-peer learning for cubing enthusiasts of all levels. The session fee is $2 for Recreation Card holders and $3 for non-holders.
