Alaska Senate Race: Peltola's $9M Haul Dwarfs Sullivan's Funds
WASHINGTON — Mary Peltola's campaign reported $8.9 million in receipts for January through March 2026, swamping Sen. Dan Sullivan's $1.7 million over the same period, according to the latest Federal Election Commission filings analyzed by Alaska Public Media. Both candidates drew most funds from outside Alaska, but Peltola edged Sullivan among in-state donors with over $500,000 in itemized contributions compared to his $135,000. Alaska money comprised 17% of Sullivan's total versus 13% for Peltola, excluding unitemized gifts.
Peltola's haul leaned heavily on individual donors, including $3.5 million in small, unitemized contributions via ActBlue, the Democratic fundraising platform. She received $450,000 from PACs, mostly Democratic leadership groups, representing just 6% of her total. Sullivan pulled $277,000 from PACs — 24% of his quarter — plus $250,000 in pass-through individual donations funneled by AIPAC, the pro-Israel group. Emily's List, focused on pro-abortion rights Democratic women, directed $44,000 to Peltola similarly.
Digital fundraising cost Peltola's team $1.4 million, or 17 cents per dollar raised, fueling her massive individual donor surge. Sullivan, campaigning since his 2020 reelection, boasts $7 million cash on hand to Peltola's under $6 million. Over broader timelines, his totals since last election slightly top her Q1 alone, with $6.5 million raised in 2025 before she jumped in.
