Ocoee residents can now hear music made from fresh ingredients, thanks to a collaboration between Chipotle Mexican Grill and the London Vegetable Orchestra. The fast-casual chain released an original song, titled “From Ground to Sound,” which uses instruments crafted entirely from vegetables.
Recorded in London’s Abbey Road Studios, the project highlights Chipotle’s commitment to real ingredients. The composition features instruments made from corn flutes, jalapeño trumpets, bell pepper horns, an onion bass and lettuce percussion. The track is available on Spotify and Apple Music.
Chipotle and the five-member London Vegetable Orchestra, formed in 2010, spent three months experimenting to create the song. The orchestra worked with Chipotle to shape vegetables into instruments that could produce specific musical notes.
“The goal was to create a track that was intrinsically linked to the brand’s identity, with the instruments, sound, and story all rooted in Chipotle’s daily operations,” said Fernando Machado, chief brand officer at Chipotle.
Patrick Johns of the London Vegetable Orchestra described the process of working with natural materials. “No two vegetables ‘behave exactly the same way,’” he said. The craft involves discovering the inherent sound within an ingredient and building music around its natural resonance.
The song was first teased in Chipotle’s “100 Creators” ads in August. A companion film about the project is available on YouTube.
