Increase your impact by donating in cryptocurrency Together, we nourish In Palm Beach County, more than 157,000 people are projected to experience food insecurity. The Palm Beach County Food Bank distributes more than 9.5 million meals to Palm Beach County residents yearly. We partner with nearly 200 county agencies, shelters, schools, food pantries, and soup kitchens through our Partner Marketplace, Pop Up Farmers Market, Childhood Hunger Initiatives, and Benefits Outreach programs. Due to COVID-19 and the current economic conditions of our country, more people are finding it difficult to make ends meet, let alone place food on their tables. The inflation of gas prices, groceries, and housing has caused hardship amongst so many families and individuals leaving them one paycheck away from survival. By donating in cryptocurrency, you are not only helping to provide meals for thousands of Palm Beach County residents but you are taking a stance by investing in our fight to end hunger Together, we provide nourishment to our neighbors in need and turn hunger into hope. Tax benefits Donating cryptocurrency is a non-taxable event, meaning you do not owe capital gains tax on the appreciated amount and can deduct it from your taxes. This makes Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency donations one of the most tax-efficient ways to support the Palm Beach County Food Bank. The IRS classifies cryptocurrency donations as property, meaning they are not subject to capital gains tax and are tax-deductible. Your contribution is tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law. For example, for donors in the United States, the IRS has classified Bitcoin as property for tax purposes. Refund Policy Please NOTE: Please only send the exact cryptocurrency listed on the blockchain mentioned on the widget. Do not send any other cryptocurrencies (including layer 2, wrapped tokens, NFTs or other ERC-20 tokens not listed) as these are unsupported and may result in loss of donation. The Giving Block: “All cryptocurrency donations made via The Giving Block are nonrefundable. Donations are often immediately converted into fiat; we do not offer refunds on any donations that are made in cryptocurrency. We are not able to provide refunds if you changed your mind, sent the wrong cryptocurrency, or made the wrong decision. When you donate crypto to the Palm Beach County Food Bank, you do not recognize capital gains from the donation and can deduct it from your taxes.
