Norfolk Police Arrest Second Suspect in Street Takeover
Norfolk Police charged D'Shawn William Creque, 28, of Hampton, with aiding or abetting street racing or exhibition driving in connection with a May 17 street takeover in the West Ghent neighborhood. Officers arrested Creque on May 26 in the 100 block of Brooke Avenue.
The charges stem from a reckless driving incident in the 1000 block of Redgate Avenue near Greenway Court, where a large crowd gathered as numerous vehicles drove through the area. Multiple residents called police to report the disturbance.
Norfolk Police arrested a first suspect three days after the incident. Isaiah A. Duncan-Simmons, 19, of Virginia Beach, faces charges of disorderly conduct and carelessly damaging property by fire. Officers arrested Duncan-Simmons on May 20.
The Criminal Intelligence Unit continues investigating the street takeover. Detectives ask anyone with information about other suspects to contact Norfolk Police or submit anonymous tips through the Norfolk Crime Line. Residents with photos or videos of the incident can submit evidence through the department's public service portal.
