The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) is initiating a public comment period regarding a proposed traffic improvement project at the intersection of Elm Street and Maple Avenue. The project involves the potential installation of a single-lane roundabout designed to enhance safety and efficiency. Preliminary studies indicate that a roundabout could reduce serious crashes by significantly decreasing conflict points and lowering vehicle speeds. DelDOT will host a public information session on November 15th, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dover Public Library Community Room. At this session, project engineers will present the proposed design, discuss the anticipated benefits, and answer questions from the community. Written comments can also be submitted to DelDOT via mail or email until November 30th, 2023. 'Community input is invaluable as we plan these important infrastructure improvements,' stated a DelDOT project manager.
