New Smyrna Beach police respond to hit-and-run, other incidents
New Smyrna Beach police handled a hit-and-run, other traffic incidents, a domestic disturbance, and a felony arrest yesterday and early today.

New Smyrna Beach police responded to a hit-and-run crash on Flagler Avenue and South Peninsula Avenue yesterday evening, September 18. The incident, which occurred around 8:02 PM, involved two vehicles and resulted in minor damage and minor injuries. No citations were issued in connection with this crash.
Later in the evening, at approximately 9:17 PM, officers responded to another traffic crash in the 1000 block of Wayne Avenue. This incident involved a single vehicle, sustained minor damage, and reported no injuries. Authorities did not issue a citation.
Police also addressed a domestic disturbance at 1506 North Peninsula Avenue at 10:29 PM yesterday. A male and female were involved in an argument. The report indicated no claims or evidence of a physical altercation.
In the early hours of today, September 19, at 3:35 AM, a single-vehicle crash occurred at North Dixie Freeway and Ronnoc Lane. This incident resulted in disabling damage to the vehicle and non-life-threatening injuries. No citation was issued.
Separately, New Smyrna Beach Police Department officers made a felony arrest yesterday at 514 Old Minorcan Trail. At 9:35 PM, an adult female was taken into custody on an active New Smyrna Beach Police Department warrant for fraudulent use of a credit card. Officers transported her to the Volusia County Branch Jail.
Officers involved in these responses included A. Valdes, M. Medina, J. Wayner, and N. Edwards. Supervisor J. Jones oversaw operations, with FTOs M. Rahn and S. Burch also on duty. CST Unit A. Hansen and K9 Officer T. Moothart were also part of the team.
