Legion of Mary invites new members to foster faith

New Smyrna Beach residents interested in deepening their spiritual lives and engaging in apostolic works are invited to join the Legion of Mary. The local chapter, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Presidium at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, is seeking men and women aged 18 and older to become members.

The Legion of Mary is described as one of the largest lay apostolic movements globally. Its mission focuses on increasing holiness through the imitation of the virtues of Mary, fostering devotion to Mary, and undertaking various apostolic activities.

Members of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Presidium are invited to pray the rosary daily for peace on earth, as requested by the Blessed Mother. The presidium at Sacred Heart is noted as the oldest in the diocese.

Meetings are held weekly on Tuesdays at 9:00 AM in Fr. Burke Hall. All are welcome to attend these gatherings to learn more about the organization and discern potential membership.

For those with questions or seeking more information, Mary Ann Gonyea can be reached by phone at 386-428-6426.
