Gerald “Gary” R. Salmans, 79, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on Saturday evening, June 6, 2026, in Granbury.A service celebrating Gary’s life will be held at a later date to be announced.Gary was born on October 20, 1946, in Wichita, Kansas to the late Henry and Ora Salmans. On December 5, 1987, Gary married Caroyln Kempf. He was an insurance executive most of his career most recently for Marsh McClelland prior to his retirement. Gary’s passion was playing golf. He will affectionately be remembered for his ‘warped sense of humor’ and for always being a prankster! Most of all, Gary cherished time spent with his family – particularly his grandchildren.Gary is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his children, Amy and husband Chris Lea, Matthew and wife Kim Salman, Megan Mikes, and Angela and husband Brian Hall; grandchildren, Jake, Abby, Kimberly, Samatha, Garrett, Will, Sidney, Addison, Avery and Bennett; and by his brother, H.R. Salmans.In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, John Salmans and by his sister, Janet Boren.
