Gail Willis Newman, 88, of Tolar, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 28, 1937, in Gladewater, Texas, to John and Mary Willis. Gail grew up in and around the Fort Worth area, where she met and married the love of her life, Charles Newman. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised four children. They shared 66 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2020.Gail’s family was everything to her. Even in her final days, her most cherished role was being “Mom” and “Nannie.” Her home was always open, and her children and grandchildren will forever treasure the memories made around her table—talking, laughing, and sharing coffee at “Mom and Dad’s” or “Nannie and Pawpaw’s.”Gail was a dedicated and successful Avon representative for many years, consistently ranking at the top in sales within her district. She never sought recognition, choosing instead to quietly work her business, build meaningful relationships, and serve others. Through her example, she taught those around her the value of hard work, responsibility, and consistency. She took immense pride in her children and grandchildren and delighted in sharing their accomplishments with anyone who would listen. Her love, encouragement, and unwavering support will be deeply missed. Her children all want to give a special Thank you to her caregiver for the last year, Angie Barnett. Angie came into our mom's life at a time when we all needed her. We were looking for someone to watch over Mom and keep her safe but what we got was someone that took the job of caring for mom to heart, someone that loved her and provided her with the best care anyone could ask for, someone that became family to us all and we could never in a million years express enough gratitude for the love and care she gave to our Mom. She will forever be a part of our lives, and we pray that she knows what she did for our family will never be forgotten.Gail was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Newman; her parents, John A. and Mary Willis; her sisters, Carleen Allee and Joan Roberts; her son-in-law, James W.
