Residents in Baker, Inland Nassau, Trout River, Western Clay, Western Duval, and Western Charlton are advised to monitor weather conditions closely as a strong thunderstorm approaches. The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a Special Weather Statement, effective until 4:00 PM EDT today, October 10th.

At 3:24 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm near Maxville, approximately 16 miles northwest of Middleburg, moving northeast at 30 mph. This storm is capable of producing wind gusts up to 40 mph. These gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and displace unsecured objects. Locations impacted include Jacksonville, Macclenny, Bryceville, Maxville, St. George, Nassau Village-Ratliff, Baldwin, and Whitehouse Air Field.

Torrential rainfall is also accompanying this storm, which may lead to localized flash flooding. The National Weather Service urges residents not to drive vehicles through flooded roadways. Secure any outdoor items that could be blown away by strong winds and be prepared for rapidly changing weather conditions.
