Myakka City residents who purchased swing seats from Pacearth Direct in recent years should check their outdoor play areas. The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of approximately 110,550 U-type swing seats due to potential breakage, which could cause users to fall and suffer serious injury. The recall includes the seats, carabiners, quick links, and webbing straps.
The affected swing seats were sold on Amazon between May 2017 and June 2026. They were available in multiple colors, including green, blue, pink, red, and turquoise, and featured yellow-coated chains. The seats were sold individually or in packs of two.
The recall stems from at least 30 reports detailing falls associated with these swing seats, resulting in nine reported injuries, including fractures, head injuries, and bruising.
Consumers who own the recalled Pacearth swing seats must stop using them immediately. To receive a refund, customers must contact Pacearth Direct and submit a photograph via email showing the word “RECALLED” written in permanent marker, clearly displaying the company’s logo, on the product.
