A Clearwater man faces multiple charges after allegedly racking up more than $2,400 in unauthorized charges on another guest's room at a Florida Keys resort. Malachi Ethan Keasler, 26, was arrested Saturday, October 3, 2026, by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
Keasler was booked into the Monroe County Jail and charged with grand theft, possession of another person’s identification, and scheme to defraud. He is the second person arrested in connection with the incident, which authorities say occurred at the Cheeca Lodge & Spa in Islamorada. The resort has since reimbursed the victim approximately $2,419 for the charges.
The investigation began in September 2025 when the victim discovered $900 in fraudulent charges. Resort security later uncovered additional illegal charges for items including drinks, food, shirts, hats and other sundries. Detectives collaborated with resort security and the Clearwater Police Department, leading to Keasler's arrest after a warrant was issued.
Emma Camille Wallace, 24, of Hollywood, Florida, was previously arrested in December 2025 on similar charges. Wallace has pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to appear in court on November 16. Keasler does not have an attorney listed. The investigation is ongoing.
