Gen. John A. Logan Statue at Murphysboro Middle School
General Logan was one of the prominent Union generals in the United States Civil War, then became a well know politician. The statue is placed in front of what was then the Murphysboro High School, now the Murphysboro Middle School. He is posed upon his battle horse, Slasher, with the Stars and Stripes behind him as well as soldiers under his command. His wife, Mary S Logan is depicted on the large medallion.
