Jackson County is seeking proposals from qualified firms to conduct performance audits of its Tax Incremental Finance (TIF) districts. This initiative aims to evaluate the effectiveness and financial performance of these economic development tools.
The deadline for submitting proposals is 4:00 p.m. on February 29, 2024. Proposals received after this date will not be considered. This audit is a standard procedure to ensure accountability and transparency in the management of TIF funds, which are intended to spur development and economic growth within designated areas.
Copies of the Request for Proposal (RFP) detailing the scope of work and submission requirements are available from the Jackson County Clerk's office. Interested firms can obtain the RFP documents at 1001 Walnut Street, Murphysboro, IL 62966, or by calling 618-687-7240.
The performance audits will examine how effectively the TIF districts are meeting their stated goals and whether the allocated funds are being used appropriately to generate incremental tax revenue for reinvestment in the community.
