Residents in the Lewiston Area, Lower Garfield and Asotin Counties, Moses Lake Area, and Okanogan Valley are advised to take immediate steps to protect tender plants from cold temperatures. The National Weather Service (NWS) Spokane WA has issued a Freeze Watch, effective from this evening through Tuesday morning, October 13, at 9:00 AM PDT.

Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 29°F are possible. The Freeze Watch impacts Gifford, Ephrata, Nespelem, Alpowa Summit, Lewiston, Lapwai, Moses Lake, Clarkston, Disautel Pass, Omak, Tonasket, Pomeroy, Peck, Oroville, Othello, Quincy, Culdesac, Lewiston Grade, Brewster, Okanogan, and Bridgeport.

The NWS warns that frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation, and potentially damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Take action now to safeguard vulnerable plants and outdoor fixtures.
