Clay County Public Health Earns National Accreditation
Clay County Public Health has earned national accreditation from the Public Health Accreditation Board, meeting federal standards for disease prevention, emergency preparedness, and community health services.
The accreditation, supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, evaluates how health departments assess community needs, investigate disease outbreaks, prepare for emergencies, and deliver disease prevention programs.
"We are pleased to be recognized for achieving national standards that foster effectiveness and efficiency," said Kathy McKay, Clay County Public Health Director. "Whether it is assessment of community health needs, investigation of disease outbreaks, or emergency preparedness activities, our goal is to improve the health of all county residents."
Clay County Public Health provides disease prevention and control, health promotion and education, environmental health services, and emergency preparedness. More information is available at www.claycountymn.gov/publichealth.
