A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Inland Jefferson, including Monticello and Wacissa, effective immediately. The National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee FL issued the warning today, October 9, at 11:05 AM EDT, expiring at 7:15 PM UTC.

Tropical storm-force winds of 10-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph are possible within the next 36 hours. Residents should complete preparations now. Expect limited damage to property, downed tree limbs, and scattered power outages. Hazardous driving conditions are possible.

A Flood Watch is also in effect, with 3-6 inches of additional rain expected, potentially leading to major flooding. Evacuations and rescues are likely; heed all flood watches and warnings. Additionally, the NWS warns of a very favorable situation for many tornadoes, some potentially intense. Those in manufactured homes or boats should prepare to relocate to safe shelter. Listen for tornado watches and warnings and be ready to shelter quickly if a warning is issued.
