City Council
The Monticello City Council is composed of five elected city-wide representatives. The Mayor position is selected by the Council Members each January. We are honored to have John Jones serve as Mayor for 2026. Vice-mayor for the year is Katrina Richardson. Council Members serve four-year, staggered terms. Staggering the terms of council members helps ensure continuity of the Council and allows for more seasoned members to continue to serve as newer members are elected into the roles.
