An Extreme Storm Surge Warning has been issued for Coastal Jefferson County, with immediate action required for evacuations and flood preparations due to potential life-threatening flooding and additional threats including major flooding rain and tornadoes.
A Storm Surge Warning has been issued for Coastal Jefferson County, effective immediately as of October 8 at 11:05 PM EDT, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee, FL. This warning signifies an Extreme threat, with potential for life-threatening storm surge of 4-6 feet above ground in surge-prone areas through Saturday morning.
Residents in Coastal Jefferson County are advised to complete all evacuation efforts and flood preparations now. If evacuation orders are given for your area, leave immediately to avoid being cut off from emergency services. Failure to act could lead to serious injury or loss of life.
