A Heat Advisory has been issued for San Francisco, Marin Hills, and the Northern Salinas Valley/Hollister Valley and Carmel Valley from October 3rd at 11 AM PDT until October 4th at 10 PM PDT, with temperatures in the low-80s to low-90s expected.

Residents in San Francisco, the Marin Hills, and the Northern Salinas Valley/Hollister Valley and Carmel Valley are advised to take precautions against hot conditions as a Heat Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) San Francisco CA. The advisory is effective from 11 AM PDT today, October 3rd, and will remain in effect until 10 PM PDT on Sunday, October 4th.

Maximum temperatures are expected to reach the low-80s to low-90s. Mild overnight temperatures and weak onshore flow will limit relief during nighttime hours. This level of heat can impact individuals without effective cooling or adequate hydration, potentially affecting health systems, heat-sensitive industries, and infrastructure.

The NWS urges the public to prioritize hydration by drinking water and, if possible, sharing water with vulnerable individuals. When outdoors, wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing, and limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening hours. It is crucial to take immediate action if symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke are experienced. Never leave young children or pets in unattended vehicles, as car interiors can reach dangerous temperatures quickly.
