USPS Schedule a Pickup service allows customers to arrange package collection in four easy steps. Step 1 requires entering pickup location details including name, address, phone, and email. Customers must verify their address is eligible for pickup service. Step 2 involves specifying where packages will be left (in a secure, accessible location) and providing any special instructions. Step 3 requires selecting pickup timing - either free pickup during regular mail delivery or paid Pickup On Demand service at a specific time. Pickups are available Monday through Saturday. Customers can schedule recurring pickups daily, weekly, or monthly by selecting start and end dates and frequency. Step 4 requires indicating the number and types of packages being picked up, including Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail, USPS Ground Advantage, Returns, International, and Other packages. Users must estimate total weight (maximum 70 lbs) and confirm packages do not contain hazardous materials. Only certain premium packages are eligible for free pickup; Other packages require at least one premium service package to qualify for free pickup. For Pickup On Demand premium service, customers must create or sign in to a USPS.com account. The service includes a dog safety alert feature to notify carriers if dogs are present at the address. Customers receive a confirmation number and can modify or cancel pickups using that number and their email or phone. Terms and conditions require packages be placed securely for pickup, with USPS bearing no liability for lost, stolen, or damaged packages. Packages must have correct postage and complete information to be eligible for pickup.
