Residents across Northwest Arizona, Southeast California, and Southern Nevada should prepare for a Wind Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Las Vegas, NV. South winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts reaching between 45 and 55 mph are expected.

The Wind Advisory is in effect from 5 AM PDT /5 AM MST/ on Sunday, October 11, to 5 AM PDT /5 AM MST/ on Monday, October 12. There may be a temporary lull in winds late Saturday night through Sunday morning before they intensify again Sunday afternoon.

Affected areas include the Northwest Plateau, Lake Havasu and Fort Mohave, Lake Mead - AZ side, Lake Mohave - AZ side, Hualapai Mountains, Northwest Deserts, Western Mojave Desert, Eastern Mojave Desert (including the Mojave National Preserve), Morongo Basin, Cadiz Basin, San Bernardino County-Upper Colorado River Valley, Northeast Clark County, Sheep Range, Spring Mountains-Red Rock Canyon, Las Vegas Valley, Southern Clark County, Lake Mead - NV side, and Lake Mohave - NV side.

Gusty winds can make driving challenging, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Drivers are urged to use extra caution. Secure any loose outdoor objects to prevent them from being blown away or causing damage. These conditions could lead to tree limb damage and potential power outages.
