A Storm Surge Warning has been issued for Mobile Central, including Mobile, Prichard, and Theodore, by the National Weather Service Mobile, AL. This warning, effective immediately as of October 8 at 6:56 AM CDT, indicates an extreme and immediate threat to life and property.
Life-threatening storm surge of 4-7 feet above ground is possible from Friday morning until Saturday morning. Evacuation efforts should be completed immediately. If evacuation orders are issued for your area, leave to avoid being cut off from emergency services. Potential for wind speeds of 74 to 110 mph are forecast, with peak winds of 25-35 mph and gusts to 45 mph. Move to safe shelter before hazardous winds arrive.
A Flood Watch is also in effect with 3-6 inches of rain expected, leading to potential major flooding. Tornadoes are also possible.
