175 City of Rosemead — Community Art Contests City of Rosemead Celebrates California’s 175th Anniversary Join us in celebrating 175 years of California’s innovation, diversity, and cultural richness with community art contests showcasing Rosemead’s creativity and pride. About the Celebration As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, California marks 175 years of history. In honor of this milestone, the City of Rosemead invites residents to celebrate through a series of art contests designed to showcase community creativity and pride. Art Contest Opportunities for Rosemead Residents: Coloring, Artwork, and Photography. Contest Categories Coloring Contest Eligibility: Kindergarten – 8th grade One entry per student One winner selected from each grade per school Acceptable mediums: crayons, colored pencils, markers, paints, or digital software Participants must download and print the coloring pages themselves K through 4th 5th through 8th Artwork Contest Theme: “What I Love About California” Eligibility: 5th to 12th grade One entry per participant All mediums accepted Submit a photo of the completed artwork One winner selected from each grade per school or age group Photography Contest Theme: “What Makes California Special to You” Eligibility: Open to all ages Submit one high-resolution photo (300 dpi) Include a title and brief description explaining the photo’s significance Categories may include landmarks, museums, parks, outdoor spaces, personal significance, or any California-related subject Multiple winners may be selected based on number of entries Submission & Key Dates All submissions should be emailed to: [email protected] off at the Rosemead City Hall:8838 E. Rosemead Launches Microtransit Program 'Rosemead Go'
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEContact:Mandy Wong, Public Safety Supervisor [email protected] (626) 569-2168 June 8, 2025 – The City of Rosemead will activate its cooling centers in response to a heat advisory issued by the National Weather Service. High temperatures of 95° or greater are expected on Wednesday, July 9th, through Thursday, July 10th. Cooling Centers provide a safe and air-conditioned space for residents to escape the heat. The Cooling Center is located at 3936 North Muscatel Avenue, Rosemead Community Recreation Center, and will be open between 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.Services available to Rosemead residents include open seating and restrooms. Meals and beverages will not be provided; however, those visiting the RCRC are welcome to bring their own snacks and food.The City of Rosemead encourages residents to check on their neighbors and family members, especially seniors, who may be vulnerable to the extreme heat. Residents are encouraged to take precautions to stay healthy during a heatwave by drinking plenty of water, limiting physical activities to cooler times of the day, wearing lightweight and comfortable clothing, and avoiding prolonged sun exposure.For any questions, please get in touch with Public Safety Supervisor Mandy Wong at (626) 569-2168 or via email at [email protected].
