Wladimir Klitschko, former fiancé of the late actress Hayden Panettiere, has filed a court document alleging that some of Panettiere's possessions, including her jewelry, were sold to a pawn shop. The claim supplements an earlier petition filed in Los Angeles County probate court in September, which sought temporary guardianship of their daughter, Kaya Klitschko.
The filing expresses concern for Panettiere's estate. Klitschko's filing warns that Panettiere's items are at risk of being sold or transferred, which would cause financial detriment to Kaya. In addition to seeking guardianship, Klitschko requests the court authorize a law enforcement investigation to recover the property he believes was misappropriated.
Panettiere, 36, died in August. The Greenville County Coroner's Office confirmed her death resulted from an accidental overdose of multiple drugs, including fentanyl. Authorities continue to investigate the source of the fentanyl.
The court filing suggests individuals outside Panettiere's immediate family may be responsible for selling her belongings. The legal action aims to protect assets intended for their daughter, Kaya, born in 2014. Specific details regarding the items or the pawn shop remain undisclosed pending potential law enforcement action.
