Sweetwater Mayor Meets Lil' Abner Park Residents on Relocation

SWEETWATER, FL – Mayor Jose “Pepe” Diaz met with representatives from the Lil’ Abner Mobile Home Park and the Miami-Dade County Housing Director on November 14, 2024, to discuss assistance for residents facing relocation. The meeting followed a promise made to residents the previous day and explored avenues for support.

Park ownership agreed to include all residents who can prove their residency in the assistance process. Mayor Diaz urged affected residents to contact the Mobile Home Park Office at (305) 842-3276 to schedule an appointment. These meetings will help identify individual circumstances and available relocation assistance.

“Your voice matters, and your well-being is our priority,” Mayor Diaz told the community. He stated that he, along with Mayor Cava, Commissioner Bermudez, and the City of Sweetwater Commissioners, are working to secure funding and resources to aid residents within legal parameters.

The City of Sweetwater, located at 500 S.W. 109th Avenue, is providing support during this transition for Lil’ Abner Mobile Home Park residents.
