SLAM Middle School Distributes iPads with Payment Plan

SLAM Middle School will distribute iPads to all middle school students for the upcoming academic year, aiming to enhance learning with digital tools.

Parents or guardians must attend iPad distribution to sign an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and pay a mandatory $50 technology fee per student. The fee covers device maintenance, insurance, and educational software.

Distribution occurs in the SLAM Middle School Gymnasium by grade level:

• Sixth graders: Monday, August 5, 2024, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
• Seventh graders: Tuesday, August 6, 2024, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
• Eighth graders: Wednesday, August 7, 2024, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

The technology fee can be paid online through the school's Parent Portal starting July 22, 2024. Parents must bring a printed payment confirmation. In-person payments by cash, check, or money order are also accepted at the front office from July 22 to August 7, 2024, during school hours.

A signed AUP, outlining responsible technology use, is required for each student. iPads will not be issued without both the completed AUP and the paid technology fee.

Families unable to attend during their designated pick-up time should contact the school office at (305) XXX-XXXX to arrange an alternative. All iPad distributions must conclude by August 7, 2024.
