North Miami Gets $1.1M Federal Grant for Water Plant
North Miami will receive $1,092,000 in federal funding to modernize its water treatment plant, Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson announced through Community Project Funding for Florida's 24th Congressional District.
The upgrades will improve operational efficiency at the plant, which serves approximately 62,000 residents and businesses. City officials said the work will reduce operating costs, extend the facility's lifespan, and strengthen infrastructure against flooding and extreme weather.
"Clean, safe, and reliable water is a fundamental right," Mayor Alix Desulme said. "I am grateful to Congresswoman Wilson for her advocacy on behalf of our community."
The modernization project represents one of several infrastructure investments North Miami is pursuing during its centennial year. The city incorporated in 1926 and ranks among the 10 largest municipalities in Miami-Dade County.
