Tropical Storm Boris Weakens After Mexico Landfall
Staff Writer
June 10, 2026
Tropical Storm Boris formed off Mexico's southwestern coast and made landfall on June 9 before dissipating, the National Hurricane Center reported.
The National Hurricane Center first detected low pressure forming June 3. By June 7, satellite imagery confirmed a closed circulation, and forecasters classified it as Tropical Depression Two-E. The system strengthened into a tropical storm by early June 8, receiving the name Boris.
Boris made landfall June 9 and quickly deteriorated into a post-tropical cyclone.
One person died in Manzanillo, Colima, from rough seas. Two others went missing near Tecomán in similar conditions.
