Two small dogs were found locked inside a light-colored SUV at an apartment complex in Temple Terrace, leading to their owner's arrest on animal cruelty charges. A neighbor alerted Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies to the situation.
Deputies responded to the apartment complex just after 2 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2026, after a resident reported the trapped dogs. Body camera footage showed the canines inside the SUV. Investigators determined the animals had been in the vehicle since approximately 3 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2026, meaning they were left unattended for about 11 hours before authorities were called.
The owner, Kenneth Warren, faces two counts of animal cruelty in connection with the incident.
