Miami consumers should check their freezers for almost 168,000 pounds of raw pork, beef, and goat products recalled nationwide. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced the Class I recall Tuesday, the highest health risk category, due to a lack of federal inspection and the use of a false USDA mark of inspection. This recall impacts products that could have reached local markets.

Star Meat Delivery Inc. of Lucama, North Carolina, produced the recalled meat without federal inspection, preventing confirmation of its safety, wholesomeness, and proper labeling. The products, produced on various dates before Sept. 22, 2026, were vacuum-sealed and packed in cardboard boxes. These boxes may have been relabeled with retailer stickers and handling instructions.

Meat products bearing the establishment number “EST. 1363” are subject to this recall. The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) warns these items are misbranded and unsafe. Distributors shipped the products to A&D Foods in Duluth, Georgia, which then sent them to retailers and restaurants across the country.

Specific items include vacuum-packed goat cuts, ribeye slices, beef chuck, oxtail, short ribs, shanks, ground pork, chorizo, pork chops, pork feet, pork rib pieces, and menudo mix. According to the recall announcement, food produced without inspection may contain undeclared allergens, harmful bacteria, or other contaminants.

The FSIS discovered the issue during routine surveillance. Consumers who purchased these recalled items should not eat them. Restaurants and retailers must stop selling or serving them. Consumers should discard the meat or return it to the place of purchase. No illnesses or injuries have been reported in connection with these products.
