M-DCPS Voters to Decide on Secure Our Future Referendum Renewal This November; Town Halls Scheduled

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) voters will decide on renewing the Secure Our Future Referendum for an additional four years this November. The referendum aims to continue funding salary supplements for teachers and instructional personnel, alongside supporting school safety and security improvements within M-DCPS.

The Secure Our Future Referendum, if approved, ensures a continued revenue stream directly benefiting the educators and the learning environment in our local schools. This renewal directly impacts the compensation of teachers and instructional staff, a critical component for retaining quality professionals in the district. It also provides ongoing resources for maintaining and enhancing security measures across all M-DCPS campuses.

To inform the community about the referendum, M-DCPS Superintendent Villalobos will host nine Town Hall meetings. These meetings offer residents an opportunity to learn more about the renewal and ask questions directly. Each Town Hall will begin with a community resource fair from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, followed by the main meeting from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
