M-DCPS Voters to Weigh Secure Our Future Referendum Renewal on Nov. 3, 2026; Town Halls Announced

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) voters will decide on the renewal of the Secure Our Future Referendum, a measure that would continue for an additional four years if approved. This referendum provides crucial funding for teacher salaries and school safety.

The Secure Our Future Referendum, if renewed, would continue to support salary supplements for teachers and instructional personnel across M-DCPS. It also allocates funds for vital school safety and security improvements, directly impacting the learning environment for students and staff.

Election Day for the referendum renewal is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Ahead of the vote, M-DCPS has scheduled nine Town Hall meetings to inform the community and address questions regarding the renewal.

Superintendent Villalobos will attend all nine Town Hall meetings, offering residents a direct opportunity to engage with school leadership. Each meeting will begin with a community resource fair from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, followed by the main Town Hall discussion from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. These sessions provide a chance for voters to understand the referendum's impact before casting their ballots.
