M-DCPS Voters to Decide on Secure Our Future Referendum Renewal November 3, 2026

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) voters will consider renewing the Secure Our Future Referendum for an additional four years on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. This renewal aims to continue funding salary supplements for teachers and instructional personnel, alongside ongoing school safety and security improvements.

The referendum directly impacts the compensation of educators and the safety measures in place across local schools. Its approval ensures the continuation of these vital programs, affecting school staff and students throughout the district.

To inform the community, M-DCPS has scheduled nine Town Hall meetings with Superintendent Villalobos. These meetings offer residents an opportunity to learn about the referendum renewal and ask questions directly. Each Town Hall will feature a community resource fair from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, followed by the main meeting from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. The Secure Our Future Referendum, first passed to address critical needs within the school system, has provided a consistent funding stream for teacher salaries and enhanced security. The upcoming vote will determine if these provisions continue for another four-year term.
