Miramar Police Arrest Suspect in Grand Theft Case After Initial Error
Miramar Police arrested Shaquille Palmer on felony grand theft charges following an earlier mistaken arrest of another man. The error stemmed from a false surname provided by the suspect.

Juana Caudillo Torres, a 96-year-old longtime Yuma resident, died Oct. 1, 2026. She was born in Guanajuato, Mexico. Services are not yet scheduled.

The Miami-Dade Public Library System's Adult Learning Academy launches a 10-week online intermediate Spanish course beginning Sept. 28. The program is designed to help adults refine their language skills and requires advance registration.

A jury acquitted former Okaloosa County Sheriff's Deputy Eddie Duran, 38, on Thursday in the 2024 shooting death of U.S. Air Force Airman Roger Fortson. Duran faced a manslaughter charge after the incident at Fortson's apartment.
