ONTARIO ― Joni Davis, a 60-year-old Ontario resident known for her community involvement, recently received a significant boost to her mobility thanks to an anonymous local nonprofit. The organization has paid off the full bank loan for Davis's 2023 Chrysler Voyager, a wheelchair-accessible van she acquired in late June.

The van, essential for Davis's needs, was initially purchased with the help of the People Fund of Consolidated Electric and community donations. Davis had been featured in a local story in June, highlighting her goal to raise $5,000 for a van equipped with a ramp. The vehicle arrived on June 24, fulfilling that goal.

"We're so grateful and beyond blessed because not only is the van 100% paid in full, but now we can focus on hooking up with a local established non-profit to let us add our van program to theirs, or help us to get our 501(c)(3) so we can continue to bless others that need a wheelchair van, or might need a lift put in a van they currently have," Davis said.

Davis and her husband, Jeff, have established a savings account at First Federal Bank, located at 1728 W. Fourth St., to assist others in the community. The anonymous nonprofit's contribution allows the couple to shift their focus toward expanding their efforts to help others acquire similar accessible transportation.
