Residents in Maricopa and East Central Yuma Counties are advised to seek immediate shelter indoors due to a Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by the National Weather Service in Phoenix. The warning is in effect until 10:15 PM MST tonight, October 10.

As of 9:52 PM MST, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles southeast of Dateland, moving north at 35 mph. This storm is capable of producing hazardous 60 mph wind gusts, as indicated by radar. Expected impacts include damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Affected locations include Paloma, Dateland, and Sentinel.

All individuals in the affected areas should seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds. Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms; if this occurs, seek shelter immediately in an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built structure.
