ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS 19TH STREET VALLEY GUTTER / CITY HALL SIDEWALK APRIL 13, 2026 BID INFORMATION: (Click on the Link for the BID Form) The City of Concordia is accepting sealed bids for the construction of a valley gutter on 19th Street and the removal and replacement a sidewalk at City Hall in Concordia, Kansas. Bids will be accepted until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 12, 2026. Specifications are detailed below. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope, marked “Infrastructure Replacement”. Envelopes received after 2:00 P.M. on May 12 will be returned to the sender, unopened. Bids will be considered by the City Commission at 5:30 P. M. on May 20, 2026 by the City Commission at City Hall, 701 Washington Street, Concordia, Kansas. All bids must be submitted in writing to the City Clerk, City Hall, 701 Washington, PO Box 603, Concordia, KS 66901 Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. PROJECT INFORMATION: The City intends to construct a valley gutter across 19th St. and remove and replace the sidewalk directly North of City Hall in Concordia, Kansas. 19th Street & Kansas St (Valley Gutter) Remove existing pavement in designated area according to the standard detail specifications and replace with a valley gutter to allow stormwater to flow across the street. · 70 S.Y.- Saw Cut & Remove Pavement · 37 L.F.- Concrete Curb and Gutter · 70 S.Y.- 6” Reinforced Valley Gutter · 70 S.Y.- 6” Aggregate Base North City Hall (Sidewalk) Remove exiting sidewalk on the north side of City Hall and replace with new sidewalk ensuring there is adequate drainage from the building to the on-street parking. · 100 S.Y.- Saw Cut & Remove Existing Sidewalk · 100 S.Y.- 4” Sidewalk Concrete Replacement (3500 psi Concrete) · 100 S.Y.- 1” Compacted Sand Bed Contractor to include a 10% contingency for unforeseen conditions arising during construction. Prices for all materials, labor and equipment provided during bidding are expected to be honored at the time the bid is approved, which is expected within 30 days of the bid letting. Contractor responsible to provide all labor and equipment necessary to complete the scope of work. Contractor responsible for proper disposal of all discarded material. Contractors may park their work trucks on the side of 19th St where available not to impede on business entrances, exits or the City booster station entrance. The City shall provide type 3 barricade to close down street until project is finished. Contractor is responsible for cones on the north City Hall location and shall have this area to stage equipment and perform work. TIME OF COMPLETION: Successful bidder shall begin the Work upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the timeframes stated by the contractor on the bid form. BIDDER’S QUALIFICATIONS: Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder. BID SECURITY: Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5 percent (5%) of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 30 days after opening bids.
