USPS now requires customers to create or sign in to their USPS.com account to verify identity and current address before submitting a new Hold Mail request. Hold For Pickup - Whether shipping from a retail store or printing your own shipping label with postage, customers can elect to Hold For Pickup, which allows the recipient to collect a package at the local Post Office. Accreditation & Records

Accreditation is a coveted award that symbolizes professionalism, excellence and competence. The goal of accreditation is to establish and maintain standards that represent current policies, increase effectiveness and efficiency of police services, reduce the liability for the agency and staff, and make an agency accountable to the community they serve. The Ponce Inlet Police Department is proud to be State Accredited through the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation. Accreditation History In 1993, Florida Statute 943.125 directed the Florida Sheriffs' Association and the Florida Police Chiefs' Association to create a voluntary law enforcement accreditation program. An accreditation program has long been recognized as a means of maintaining the highest standards of professionalism. Accreditation is the certification by an independent reviewing authority that an entity has met specific requirements and prescribed standards. The Ponce Inlet Police department received its first accreditation in 2005, and was re-accredited in 2008, 2011, 2014, 2017, 2020 and 2023. I am extremely proud of the work done by the Ponce Inlet Police Department's accreditation team led by our Accreditation Manager, Ms. Gina Manchester. The assessment team used the word 'flawless' to describe the work done by the team and stated, 'The Ponce Inlet Police Department is a professional agency that is clearly committed to the accreditation process…..the assessment team was impressed by the members of the agency that were interviewed throughout the process.' The citizens and visitors of Ponce Inlet should be proud of the men and women of the Ponce Inlet Police Department. The commitment to excellence as shown by our team is a testament to their hard work and dedication. Excellence doesn't happen by accident. Chief Glazier About the Florida Police Accreditation Coalition, Inc. The Florida Police Accreditation Coalition, Inc. (FLA-PAC) is a not-for-profit organization representing a coalition of criminal justice agencies from across the State working together to achieve and maintain accredited status. FLA-PAC provides a network for law enforcement professionals, which encourages communication, mutual cooperation, support, and the sharing of resources in the pursuit and maintenance of accreditation. Records The Records Unit includes several staff members who serve as the first point-of-contact for citizens who visit the Police Department or call the non-emergency number. Staff members enter reports and citations into the Records Management System (RMS), take public records requests, accept payment for parking citations, and handle pet registrations, bicycle registrations and other records related duties. Records is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday.

Safety Exchange Zone

Since 2007, nearly 90 killings in the U.S. have been tied to Craigslist and other Internet transactions. Five of those occurred in Florida. Many police departments around the country are offering Craigslist sellers/buyers the safe haven of their agency's lobbies and parking lots so that transactions can take place. As a service to the citizens of Ponce Inlet, the Ponce Inlet Police Department has designated the Police Department as a "Safe Zone" for these types of transactions. Should you feel the need to meet with a stranger to purchase or sell an item, please meet them at the Ponce Inlet Police Department, located at: 4301 S Peninsula Drive Ponce Inlet, FL 32127 Outside Normal Hours If you cannot schedule the meeting during normal business hours, call the Communications Dispatch Center, nonemergency line at 386-248-1777 and ask for an officer to stand-by with you at the Police Department. An officer will stand-by with you, calls for service permitting. Your safety is of paramount importance to us at the Ponce Inlet Police Department. Please consider using this service. Tips for Conducting Online Deals: - Only agree to meet at a law enforcement facility. - Meet during daylight hours. - Trust your instincts when conducting transactions. Don't meet with suspicious people. - Meet in the parking lot of a police department, if you can't meet in the lobby. Typically they have cameras and police officers coming and going. - Bring a friend or family member with you. - Let others know where you are meeting and what time. - Avoid meeting at your home. - Try your best to avoid nighttime transactions. - Only accept cash and not a personal check. - When large items are being sold, meet publicly beforehand to exchange and photocopy one another's identification papers (i.e. driver's license).

The Ponce Partners program is designed to be a safety net for those who are either elderly, live alone, or have health problems. Any resident can become a member by completing a short request form. Using the Program When you become a Ponce Partner you simply agree to contact the Police Department by phone each day anytime before noon. If we do not hear from you, we call to see if you are alright. If we are unable to reach you by phone we send an Officer out to check on your well being. All too often those who are ill, elderly or live alone injure themselves and can't call for help. This program is set up to ensure some form of communication each day. We have a great relationship with all of our Ponce Partners. If you or anyone you know are interested all you have to do is contact the Police Department or download the online application (PDF).
