Summer Fun

Summer Fun The Mariposa Sheriff’s Department would like to remind everyone of keeping safety in mind as they start the summer weekend activities along the many waterways in Mariposa County. The Sheriff’s Boating Enforcement program emphasizes the need for all boaters to keep aware of others on the waterways, observe the speed limits, usage of Personal Flotation Devices and to drive soberly and safely. Extra Patrols The Sheriff’s Patrol Division will be providing extra patrol along the Merced River from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Sheriff’s bike patrol officers will be occasionally in the River Canyon to ensure the safety of all who use this popular recreation area. Users should be aware that the Merced River currents are often strong and unpredictable and Personal Flotation Devices should be used. Have a safe summer.
