The National Weather Service in Jacksonville reports that a severe thunderstorm was located near Rainbow Lakes Estates at 5:10 PM EDT, moving north at 20 mph. This storm is capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts and penny-size hail. Expected impacts include damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Areas affected by this warning include Rainbow Lakes Estates, Dunnellon, and Romeo.
Residents are advised to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building for protection. Torrential rainfall is occurring, and flash flooding is possible; do not drive through flooded roadways.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect for northern Florida until 9:00 PM EDT. Remain alert for a possible tornado; if one is spotted, seek shelter in a basement or a small, central room within a sturdy structure.
