Residents in Bradford, Eastern Alachua, Eastern Marion, Western Clay, and Western Putnam counties should seek shelter indoors immediately due to a strong thunderstorm identified by Doppler radar. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Jacksonville has issued a Special Weather Statement at 7:45 PM EDT, effective until 8:15 PM EDT.

At 7:44 PM EDT, radar indicated a strong thunderstorm near Keystone Heights, moving north at 25 mph. This storm is capable of producing landspouts and wind gusts up to 40 mph. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible, and gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured items.

Locations impacted include Starke, Interlachen, Keystone Heights, Melrose, Hawthorne, Lake Geneva, Florahome, Camp Blanding, Melrose Landing, and Orange Heights.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring, which may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive through flooded roadways. A Tornado Watch remains in effect for northern Florida until 9:00 PM EDT.
